PTAC SC’s client base grows, helping SC businesses to navigate the government marketplace

To date, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center of South Carolina (PTAC SC) has served 140 clients from 29 counties. 50 of these clients are Woman-Owned Small Businesses, 21 are Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and 47 are from Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone).

“In just 6 months, PTAC SC has established themselves as a vital tool for businesses looking to grow in South Carolina,” said UofSC Office of Innovation, Partnerships & Economic Engagement Executive Director Bill Kirkland. “We look forward to continuing the success of the center and providing more businesses, large and small, with the tools needed to navigate federal, state, and local government contracting.

As PTAC SC’s client base continues to grow, it remains committed to its mission of improving South Carolina’s economy through helping large and small businesses seek opportunities in government contracting.

PTAC SC provides each of the state’s 46 counties with the following assistance, at no charge: identifying marketing opportunities for clients’ products/services; advising and assisting clients in preparation and submission of applications, certifications and registrations for doing business with federal, state, and local governments; advising and assisting clients with the preparation and submission of bids/proposals and post-award functions; bid matching service; and pursuing subcontracting opportunities.

PTAC SC is currently accepting clients who are interested in seeking contractual business opportunities with the federal, state, and local government and is funded through a partnership with the University of South Carolina’s Office of Innovation, Partnerships & Economic Engagement  and the South Carolina Department of Commerce
