Success Story – Tru Impact Consulting Finds First-Time Success

Tru Impact Consulting provides services in the areas of administrative management and general management consulting, project management, strategic planning management and communications, organizational development, and much more. Since working with SC APEX, their procurement counselor, Ashley Duwel, has assisted them in obtaining certifications to advance their small business, source and seek opportunities, and provided training to become more efficient in the government marketplace. Hear from Tru Impact Consulting, LLC owner, Dr. Omega Honeywood on their experience working with SC APEX Accelerator thus far.

“I learned about APEX or found out through the Winthrop University Small Business Development Center. One thing I wanted help with when I first started was understanding more about government contracting. [Ashley] recommended that I start at the state level since being a new business. We also looked at different certifications such state and local, enhancing my capabilities statement, and how to search for solicitations.

When I first started [in government contracting] I was very overwhelmed about where to start, Ashley helped me to narrow down what services I wanted to provide and how I can use my experience in different areas. The process hasn’t been overnight, however, as of August 1^st, I have won my first award.”
